Google has announced Gemini support in Google Sheets on iOS. Eligible users can ask questions about spreadsheet data, request insights and create charts from their mobile device.

What is available

Google says users can open a compatible spreadsheet and tap the Gemini icon to begin. The feature follows Gemini’s availability in Sheets on the web and Android.

The announcement lists supported Workspace business and enterprise editions, Google AI Pro for Education, and Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra consumer plans. Availability depends on the account and relevant Workspace settings.

When to expect it

Although the announcement is dated October 19, Google says the gradual rollout began October 15 and can take up to 15 days. An eligible account may therefore receive the feature at a different time from another account.

QueryFun takeaway

Mobile analysis is convenient for a quick question, but check the underlying range, units and totals before relying on a generated chart. Start with a small, familiar spreadsheet so you can compare the answer with a result you already understand.
